We’ve had such a wonderful summer of shows, it’s hard to believe it’s almost over. From festivals across Manitoba and Ontario, amazing Concert Series and even the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open in London! Another summer of fun.
We have more great shows coming up this fall, but there is one that we’re particularly excited about. Our friend, Brennen Leigh from Austin, TX is coming to Canada for a few days in September. We’re teaming up for a double bill at the Union Hall in Clayton on Thursday, Sept. 11th. It’s going to be a wonderful evening! If you like real country music, you’ll want to be there. Check her out, you won’t want to miss this show! http://www.brennenleigh.net/
Tickets are available at Mill St. Books in Almonte (613-256-9090) and Gemmill’s General Store in Clayton.
Spring has sprung, summer is on its way and we’re gearing up for a busy season! We’re playing the Bassline Station in Ottawa on May 31st and The Branch in Kemptville on June 5th before we take off to Winnipeg. We’re very excited to be touring Manitoba and Ontario for a few weeks with our good friends, Red Moon Road. We met last summer at Stan Rogers Fest in Canso, NS and it was love at first chord. We’ll be playing a few shows in their neck of the woods (including the Winnipeg Jazz Festival) before we head back to Ontario for some fun here. We’re excited to announce that we’ll be playing the Northern Lights Festival Boreal this summer, along with some other great festivals, fairs and of course returning to our favourite spots like Neat Cafe and the Blacksheep Inn. We’ll be adding more dates to our tour page soon, so please check it out and hopefully we’ll see you somewhere along the way!
The 2013 Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has officially wrapped up its journey across Canada and the United States raising record donations for North American food banks. Once again we were honoured to join CP in their fight against hunger. In 3 1/2 weeks we travelled across 3 provinces and 9 states, playing 73 shows to fans who braved the cold to help those in need.
The 2013 journey by two brightly decorated freight trains to over 150 communities hit record donations of more than $2 million and 300,000 pounds of food. The 2013 donation results now push totals close to $9.5 million and 3.3 million pounds since 1999.
The Holiday Train is a beautiful and unique fundraiser that we are so proud to be a part of! The 15th anniversary of the Holiday Train was a huge success. We couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate the season than by playing holiday favourites in sub-zero temperatures to a crowd of smiling kids and big kids alike. What a wonderful way to raise money, food and awareness for our neighbours in need. A big thank you to CP for inviting us once again. It is truly a highlight of our year musically and personally!
Happy New Year!
